We Found a Genius Method for Making Homemade Cinnamon Rolls in 30 Minutes

  • Prep Time: 10 mins
  • Cook Time: 20 mins
  • Total Time: 30 mins
  • Yield: 16 cinnamon rolls

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry (from a 17-ounce box)
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • A little all-purpose flour for dusting your surface
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (you’ll split this up)
  • 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar (divided)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

That’s it—simple ingredients for a delicious treat!

Directions

  1. Thaw 2 sheets of puff pastry according to the package instructions. They should be soft enough to roll but still cold. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly sprinkle some flour on your countertop to keep the pastry from sticking. Unfold one sheet of puff pastry and place it on the floured surface.
  3. Brush a thin layer of the beaten egg evenly over the pastry. Then, mix 1 teaspoon of cinnamon with 3 tablespoons of packed brown sugar and sprinkle it evenly across the dough.
  4. Starting from one long side, carefully roll the pastry into a tight log. Go slowly to keep it neat! Once rolled, pinch the seam to seal it shut. Cut the log into 8 equal pieces and place them cut-side up on half of your lined baking sheet, spacing them out a bit.
  5. Repeat the same steps with the second sheet of puff pastry. Once all the rolls are on the baking sheet, brush the tops with the remaining egg wash.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed. Keep an eye on them so the sugar doesn’t burn. Once done, move the rolls to a wire rack and let them cool completely.
  7. While the rolls cool, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled rolls, and you’re ready to enjoy!

Easy, delicious, and done in no time!
